A Newnham man accused of causing grievous bodily harm to an elderly man during an aggravated robbery in South Launceston will stand trial.

Keith Wayne Herlihy appeared in Launceston Magistrates Court on Thursday.
The 51-year-old pleaded not guilty to one count of causing grievous bodily harm and one count of aggravated armed robbery, in front of Magistrate Simon Brown.
Mr Herlihy was bailed to stand trial in the Launceston Supreme Court on September 2.
Further charges of aggravated burglary, possessing a shortened firearm and possessing a firearm without an appropriate license, were adjourned for a later date to be determined.
