The 40-foot wooden vessel sank in the afternoon of Friday, June 7, after its operator called for assistance when it started taking on water.
A cause of the damage that resulted in sinking of the vessel was yet to be determined.
The boat continued to take on water while it was being brought back to the wharf and sunk in Georges Bay, where it remained for just over a week. No one was injured in the incident.
IN OTHER NEWS:
St Helens Marine Rescue operations manager John Sullivan said air bags were placed in the boat on Sunday and it was refloated to be brought back to shallow water.
"At the moment it's sitting up out of the water," he said.
"It's a work in progress. It needs to be raised further out of the water for repairs to take place.
"For a reasonable sized vessel like this to sunk, it's very rare for that sort of thing to take place."
