The 12-year-old Trevallyn Primary School student was recently named in the Tasmanian under-13 team for the national championships to be held in Hobart in October, overcoming disappointment from being named a train-on player in the 2018 under-12 side.
After joining Launceston City from New South Wales after his family's relocation in 2014, Darcy has already picked up a premiership for the club and was named his side's most consistent player as well as taking home their under-14s encouragement award alongside Isabel Partridge.
Darcy has got his 2019 season off to a flying start, scoring 15 goals in his first four games and representing the North at the annual June long weekend regional challenge, which he has done for the past four seasons.
Despite hockey being his major passion, Darcy continues to dip his toe into other waters, representing his school at the LSSSA and taking to the courts of Elphin Sports Centre for Launceston City Basketball Club's under-14s outfit.
Excited to continue and maintain a long career in Northern hockey's circles, Darcy follows in his father's footsteps, with Stuart also representing Launceston City in division three competition alongside club president Wayne Ottaway who praised Darcy's work ethic and drive to improve his game.
"Darcy is always keen. He's incredibly passionate and is a kid who loves and enjoys his hockey," Ottaway said.
