The Glamorgan Spring Bay Council has advertised a draft planning scheme amendment for the rezoning of properties on Sunrise Drive, Burgess Street, Fraser Street and Foster Street.
Properties 8 and 10 Sunrise Drive and part of 9 Burgess Street would be rezoned from Particular Purpose Zone 1 - Urban Growth Zone to General Residential Zone.
Lot 200 on Fraser Street and 2 and 4 Foster Street from would move from Local Business Zone to General Residential Zone.
The supporting report said all parts of the planning scheme amendment were considered to correct issues with the current zoning.
The land at Sunrise Drive was a mix of existing and approved subdivision lots. The subdivision was approved for what was at the time a Future Urban Zone, which was translated in the new framework to Particular Purpose Zone 1.
IN OTHER NEWS
The report said it was an error, and the subdivision lots should be included in a residential zone.
The land on Fraser Street was part of the Bicheno by the Bay site, and was subdivided with the future owners intending to use the land for residential purposes.
Bicheno by the Bay was included in the Resort Residential Zone in the previous planning scheme, but the interim planning scheme had no equivalent zone and was converted into a Local Business Zone, despite being out of the commercial area of the town.
The land was no longer part of Bicheno by the Bay and there was no purpose for retaining that zoning.
Documents relating to the draft planning scheme amendment are available online or at the Glamorgan Spring Bay Council Chambers.
Representations can be made to the council until 5pm on July 3.
