After the Magpies defeated Scotch in their round one fixture, the home side came out with a point to prove at the NTCA Ground and dominated from the opening bounce with a four-goal to one first quarter.
Stephen Blizzard was the victors' best alongside Dixon as Zane Brown kicked three for the Magpies with Nathan Madden strong.
As Dixon starred at NTCA, Sonny Whiting was putting on yet another clinic for LILYDALE as the devastating small forward kicked 10 against Bridport in his side's 16.11 (107) to 12.11 (83) win.
Whiting, Sam Lockett and Logan Reynolds pulled Lilydale past the tough Seagull challenge with the home side matching it with the undefeated Demons in the first and last quarters, the ladder leaders showing their class in between.
Andy Barron continued as one of Bridport's key players alongside Jakob Whelan and Scott Fenton's four goals.
Not to let Whiting have all the goal-kicking spoils, ST PATS' Tom Hilder kicked a dozen of the Saints' goals in their 31.19 (205) to 4.4 (28) win over Uni-Mowbray.
An eight-goal to one first quarter put St Pats in comfortable territory early in the piece and from there it was business as usual for the rampaging Saints as they maintained second position with the win.
Daniel Pickersgill, Cai Green and Mitchell Digney scored the University's three as Zac Fleming and Liam Guardia toiled.
EVANDALE flew into fourth position on the ladder as they defeated and leap-frogged Old Launcestonians in a comfortable 16.6 (102) to 9.11 (65) victory.
Victorian recruit Sam Bouwman kicked four for the Eagles, assisted by last game's hero James Storay, Jackson Davey, James Conroy and Jonathon French who all kicked two in their dominant showing.
Lloyd Evans kicked three and Alistair Taylor two for the losing side who have now been defeated on three occasions this season and are yet to face both Lilydale and St Pats.
