With this year's event marking the centenary running of the King's Cup regatta, Jack was motivated to try out for the team due to the historical importance for both the sport and the Defence Force.
"The opportunity to support the team preparing to race at the Royal Henley Regatta is not something I could pass up. It really is a historic event and the opportunity of a life-time to be part of it," he said.
Rowing for both Scotch Oakburn College and Tamar Rowing Club during high school, Jack represented Tasmania in the under-23 youth cup before continuing to row at the Australian Defence Force Academy and becoming the president of rowing at Duntroon's Royal Military College.
The King's Cup will be held from July 5 to 7.
