Scott wore number nine for his much-loved side and orange was his favourite colour, so making the change from City's traditional navy blue was a minor sacrifice said club-mate Emily Nunn.
"It's a pretty big day for our club because he was such a good club member," Nunn said.
"He was always about: umpiring, coaching and playing with the club for 25 years or more."
With Queechy Penguins also celebrating their annual club day on Saturday, a conversation between Nunn and Queechy's Nic Duffy sparked an idea that could become a regular thing as the two sides lock horns in both GNL and division two.
"This is the fifth year of Queechy Penguins having a club day as well and our day is about celebrating all of the premierships in the years beforehand and this year we are celebrating the premierships with a '9' involved, so predominantly the 1999 division three state premiership," Duffy said.
"This is something going forward we think we might like to do every year. Jason played with Launceston City and his mum was connected with Queechy, so I think it's nice we can look at having a rival round between our two clubs in round nine every year and play for a cup."
With the two GNL match-ups poised to be high-quality encounters between the two competitive clubs, sporting charity Livin' for Hockey will be represented throughout as they focus on combating youth mental health by playing hockey.
