A pod of orcas were spotted frolicing in the Tamar River on Friday.
The Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water, and Environment said though it was cool, it was not uncommon to see whales in the river.
Whale watching tips
The Australian National Guidelines states boats moving at a slow speed and with no wake should stay 100 metres away from a whale.
Vessels under stream or jet skis should not approach any closer than 300 metres.
Boats should not approach from the front or rear of the animal.
Whale sightings and injured or entangled marine mammals can be reported to the whale hotline on 0427 WHALES as the information is vital for ongoing monitoring.
The hotline also assists in national recovery efforts and rapid responses to incidents.
