Guard Tre Nichols said the performance was unacceptable given the team's finals aspirations.
"We've won games we're supposed to win but now the next step for us moving forward is beating teams that are ahead of us," he said.
"We've been having issues with that this season and it has to be corrected pretty quickly."
Key players including Nichols as well as forwards Jalen Billups and Marcel Jones all had strong outings, but it wasn't enough to overcome a quick and dominant Rams offense.

Billups said the result on Thursday night was disappointing but he believes they are ready to get back and even the series.
"We laid an egg last night but we're going to make some adjustments and I'm pretty confident we can get them," he said.
The Huskies got off to a slow start in Thursday's game, getting into an 11-point deficit at the first quarter.
Billups said wouldn't just be getting off to a good start, but dominating all four quarters.
"It's [offence] gonna be a focus for all 40 minutes that's all I know," Billups said.
"Really just be more physical than them because at the end of the day that's how they really got us - they were more disciplined and more poised than we were.
"No more excuses at this point, we know what we need to do and we're going to get it done."
North West native Mason Bragg said the team's finals hopes took a hit on Thursday but he believes the Huskies have the right mindset to get the job done.
"We've got to look at every game from now on as a finals game so every game is a must win," he said.
The former North West Thunder point guard said his play style had shifted with his move to the New Zealand league.
"I think I'm in a different role than I was in the Thunder last year - I was more of a scorer but this year I'm playing more of a defensive role," Bragg said
"It's really different but it's developing my game a lot."
Bragg added that he'd love to see the Huskies play in Ulverstone at some point in the near future given the area's love for basketball.
"I think if we could get a game up at Ulverstone it would be great to see and it would be great to get some support from back up at the coast," he said.
"It would be really cool I think there's a lot of basketball interest on the Coast and if you look at the coastal competition up there it's really competitive and you get a lot of people coming out to the game."
