Building and Construction Minister Sarah Courtney said she hoped the five vehicles with Takata alpha air bags would be "off the road soon".
She was answering a question from Huon MLC Robert Armstrong who asked for an update on the recall and replacement of faulty airbags in Tasmania.
Ms Courtney said Tasmania had led the nation its response to the international recall.
"This is a very serious safety issue for Tasmanians," she said.
"Our response has been nation leading. We were the first state to act on advice from the ACCC.
"There has been a world wide recall after exploding metal from faulty bags and causing injuries and deaths and we took decisive action."
Ms Courtney said the replacement of faulty air bags was expected to be completed by the end of 2020.
