Still smarting from a 2-1 loss to Northern rivals Launceston City last weekend, Olympic remain in search of their first home win since attaining NPL Tasmania promotion and Gaetani believes Saturday's clash is a good a chance as any.
"If we play the kind of football we played against City and learn from our mistakes, we'll come out with a win, but I'm sick of saying that each week," Gaetani said.
Kingborough won 2-1 when the two sides met at Lightwood Park earlier in the year, with Riverside going a goal up through Rhys Kinslow before the Lions took all three points via Danny Cowen's first goal of the season.
Having endured a similar storyline against City, Gaetani encouraged his troops to manufacture a different result against the Lions.
"They are an awesome bunch but young, so it's hard to know how they are going to react."
Former Launceston United and Northern Rangers youngster Matt Spanos has been favoured up front in recent games for Olympic although Kinslow, who hit their late winner in the derby victory at Prospect earlier in the season, replaced him for the last half hour on Saturday.
Launceston City coach Lino Sciulli had been expecting to play a Glenorchy side that beat Clarence 10-0 last weekend but a fixture change prompted by Monday's Lakoseljac Cup final has handed them the equally daunting prospect of a trip to South Hobart on Sunday.
After four weeks without a match, Sciulli said it was good to get back on the park in Saturday's derby.
"It's very hard to motivate them in training sessions when you have so long off, but it is what it is," Sciulli said.
"Four weeks off really affected our fitness and that will come back but it was a tough ask."
Talismanic striker Noah Mies returned from a stint in the Victorian league last weekend but was kept relatively quiet by Olympic defender Jon O'Neill.
Injury restricted club captain Lindsay Millington to 14 minutes against Riverside last week.
