Tasmania Police were called to an address in Eddington Crescent about 7pm on Sunday.
Police allege two men threatened and assaulted a 50-year-old man occupant by hitting him in the head.
They allege the men also stole a chainsaw and a small amount of cash from the property.
The victim and one of the alleged offenders were known to each other.

A 36-year-old Mayfield man was charged with aggravated armed robbery and firearms offences. He was remanded to appear in the Launceston Supreme Court on September 2.
On Tuesday, detectives, in company with police officers from the Raptor taskforce executed a search warrant at a property at St Leonards.
During that search, police recovered three firearms, ammunition, a significant quantity of cannabis and stolen property.
A 34-year-old man who is an occupant of the St Leonards property was arrested and charged with aggravated armed robbery in relation to the incident at Invermay.
In addition he was charged with trafficking cannabis, possessing stolen firearms and other related firearms offences, as well as charges in relation to his possession of stolen property.
The second man will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court at 11.30am.
