The Australian Electoral Commission announced counting had been finalised for the Bass electorate on Tuesday afternoon.
Almost 94 per cent of Bass votes had been counted at the time of the AEC's announcement, with Ms Archer holding a slim lead of 562 votes, or 50.41 per cent, over outgoing Labor MHR Ross Hart.

An official event recognising the result will be held at the AEC's divisional office at George St, Launceston, on Thursday morning.
Ms Archer stood down from her position as George Town mayor in the final weeks of the federal election campaign.
The AEC also announced that Independent MHR Andrew Wilkie was re-elected to Clark.
