The Northern Midlands Council, in conjunction with the Northern Midlands Business Association, is seeking input and information to develop its Economic Development Framework.
The framework would cover strategies and projects ranging across agriculture, business, tourism, infrastructure, resources, population, and the built environment.
Two open forums are planned for June in which attendees can provide their thoughts on the framework and discuss how to build a "prosperous and sustainable future" for the Northern Midlands.

Northern Midlands mayor Mary Knowles said the process was entirely about gaining an insight from the community to take forward.
Any future plans need to be moved with "the community on board", Cr Knowles said. "And we won't really know that outcome until the meetings."
"But we definitely need continuing development because we are going to have more people living in the area," she added.
Northern Midlands Business Association executive officer Gordon Williams said the organisation was happy to be supporting consultation.
"Clearly it is important we get business input into the future economic development to our region," he said. "We've had 30 businesses register to attend the consultation sessions, which is a fantastic start."
Those businesses cover areas such as manufacturing, agriculture, retail, tourism and services, Mr Williams added. Which he described as "the broadest possible range so far".
"The Northern Midlands Business Association has 1000 businesses registered as members. Thirty [registrations] is good, but we would like to see more."
The forums will take place in Longford on June 11 and Campbell Town on June 18. Both will begin at 5.30pm.
