One of only two Blues shortlisted for the state under-25 team which will meet Victoria Metro in Launceston next weekend, the 20-year-old is raring to go should he make Jamie Hayward's final 23-man squad.

"It's an honour - it's good to pull the map on, I've done it a few times and it's a very proud moment," Brown said.

"I did the state under-16s but got dropped before we went away so that was hard, but I came back and played a few games with the Mariners.

"It's just good to get the opportunity again - I'm grateful to be picked in it and it's very exciting to play in front of a lot of recruiters and stuff like that."

Known as one of the zippiest operators in the State League - think an 11-second 100m - Brown has been one of the Blues' most consistent in season 2019.

Deployed on a wing for the first time in his senior career, Brown has thrived on the extra space and still managed to get forward and hit the scoreboard.

"That's what Mitch [Thorp] and the coaching staff have been wanting me to do more of, breaking lines and getting those 50m efforts," the former Sacred Heart student said.

"All of my other senior years I've been back and forward so it's really good to get on the wing and have a run around."

Launceston enters its round 10 home clash with North Hobart full of momentum after upsetting Glenorchy with its best performance of the season to date.

As if they needed any further motivation to go into the bye 5-4, Saturday's 2pm game will also double as a fundraiser for Breast Cancer Network Australia, with the Blues donning pink tops for the occasion.

"I think [the Glenorchy win] put the belief more in us - we believed before, but we know we can do it now so we just need to put the four-quarter effort of the weekend up to North and Lauderdale and see how we go," Brown said.

"Us as a senior group and the ladies and development league have galvanised and it's a great culture to be around right now."
