Following a dominant, destructive performance against the Southern Football League last year, the NWFL made the call to step up and face the North's best in an attempt to save Tasmania's representative game.
Set to be coached by 2011 State League premiership coach Anthony Taylor, the senior men's side will be captained by last year's premiership coach, Leigh Harding with Hillwood tough nut Mark Walsh and George Town skipper Allan O'Sign his deputies.
As the under-18s clash begins proceedings at Invermay Park next weekend, Jack de Wit capped off a notable week by being named captain on the same day he was picked for his senior debut with the Parrots.
Longford's Nedd Carr will serve as de Wit's vice-captain with renowned coach Jacob Lowe at the helm of the competition's future.
Scottsdale's captain and coach combination will be in full force leading the women's team against their Southern counterparts with Letitia Johnston and Cabel Hall set to continue their reign.
Johnston will be assisted by Evandale's Courtney Sharman and South Launceston's Emily Perkins to represent the NTFAW in the competition's first season.
