A Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment spokesperson said the department is aware of the entangled seal and will make attempts to free it.
"The department has wildlife officers experienced and trained in seal disentanglement who will attempt to free the animal if it remains in the area," the spokesperson said.
"One of the challenges posed by these types of entanglements is keeping track of the animal when it is mobile and moving in and out of the water."
