In 2013 the state government asked the three electricity businesses to conduct a "thorough search for any records that are relevant" to chemical exposure claims.

Aurora chief executive Peter Davis wrote to then Energy Minister Matthew Groom in May 2014, stating "Aurora has conducted comprehensive searches of its electronic and hard copy records... and has been unable to locate any relevant records regarding the matter", TasNetworks chief executive Lance Balcombe said.
"...historical employment records are often lost, imprecise or difficult to locate," Mr Balcombe said.
HEC provided hard copy records that TasNetworks is assessing, he said.
