palawa kani
I suspect the attacks on the authenticity of a process that assists language communities worldwide to revive their languages (and thereby palawa kani) - may be politically driven by detractors with an axe to grind. To describe palawa kani as false, is to disclaim any revived language - a false claim in itself.

The written representations in palawa kani - in a now consistent spelling system represents the original sounds of our old languages. Some sounds simply cannot be captured in English. All spellings however are necessary for the comparative analysis undertaken on every word retrieved. Meanings are also cross-checked for individual and related words. Any evidence for different names for different parts of geographical features is also acknowledged - that is part of the process.
The TAC is not a speaker of language. The TAC is the only Aboriginal organisation in the state that has got on with the job of reviving Aboriginal language and sharing it among the statewide Aboriginal community. Almost three generations of Aborigines across the state are the speakers. Schools enthusiastically embrace palawa kani, spoken by their students in Welcomes at assemblies, in interpretive installations and specific learning sessions, all under the scope of the Language Revival Learner Pathway (LR) of the Australian Curriculum Framework for Aboriginal Languages and Torres Strait Islander Languages.
Finally, no one more keenly than we who do this work feels the responsibility to ensure our old peoples' words finally break free of those European spellings. nina tunapri mina kani?

Homelessness
In this state we have many homeless people yet on the radio they were waffling on about an AFL team for Tassie.
What is the more important priority, homes for those who are sleeping in tents or on the streets or forking out about $25 million for a team of guys who kick a ball around? It's about time compassion won out over a couple of hours of "glory" a week.

Rugby Australia
IT'S official, you can be sacked for quoting the Bible.
How ridiculous do Rugby Australia look?
They say they are inclusive, but obviously are not inclusive enough to accept christians.
Christian rugby players are now being told their beliefs are incompatible with the sport they play.
What a joke.
I hope Israel Folau appeals this ridiculous decision which has major implications for freedom of speech and freedom of religion.
What a disingenuous bunch Rugby Australia are.
