With the role untouched since its inaugural holder Alex Pyecroft, made his Sheffield Shield debut in November last summer, New Zealand international Sara McGlashan has made the move to the Apple Isle.
Joining head coach of the female program, England's Salliann Briggs, the 212-game international across all three formats retired from professional cricket in January after a 15-year career at the highest level including four seasons representing the Sydney Sixers in the WBBL.
"There's an attraction in general to be involved with cricket in Australia but the progress that is happening in Tasmania is really exciting," the newly-appointed pathway coach said.

"I've played alongside Ellyse Perry for the last couple of years and she speaks really highly of Sal and if someone like her is speaking highly of her, I thought it was a great opportunity to be involved."
The Tigers finished last season's WNCL in third place, missing the final due to net run rate and this year features Northern players Sasha Moloney, Katelyn Fryett, Courtney Webb, Emma Manix-Geeves, captain Brooke Hepburn and Meg Phillips.
