It's a series for low-grade greyhounds conducted as a best-eight event with this year's edition having a field of only seven runners with only one, Tom Tom Drum, having attempted the distance previously.
Dahlhaus, for trainer Blake Pursell, is the predicted $1.10 favourite from box 4.
The Trewly Special - Silvias Flame galloper has won 14 of his 47 starts and since stepping up to the middle distance has claimed four of his seven races.
He can be hot or cold at box-rise but, when he's on song, he is very talented and two runs back he was a smart winner over 515m in 29.74.
He then went to Devonport and won in a flying 32.93.
Reiki Master, trained at Penguin by Butch Deverell, is a clear second favourite at $6.50.
Now in its 32nd year, the race honours former LGRC club secretary Ray Foley who made a significant contribution to racing over more than 20 years and was inducted into the Tasmanian Greyhound Hall Of Fame in 2011.
The excitement continues in Launceston the following week with heats of the 45th Tasmanian Derby and Tasmanian Oaks over 515m.
There is expected to be two heats of each series with the June 10 finals worth almost $5000 to the winners.
