On the back of conceding 114 points to both Frankston and Dandenong followed by last week's overtime victory over Lauren Jackson's Albury Wodonga, the deficit column took an even bigger hit as the Rush accumulated 130 points to the Torns' 94.
The visitors were quick out of the blocks at the Minerdome and took a 33-26 lead into the first quarter.
However, the hosts heavily outscored them in each term after that, doubling their tally in the second quarter and increasing their lead as the game wore on to leave the Torns 4-7 after 11 games.
In an impressive display of point sharing, seven of the eight Ballarat players amassed double figures, led by Laura Taylor (26) and Chanise Jenkins (22) while Lucy Cochrane was a third home player to achieve a double double.
In contrast, the Tornadoes' scoring responsibility rested largely on the shoulders of Sarah O'Neill (32) who contributed more than a third of her team's points.
Captain Stephanie Gardner also pitched in with 20 and Bec Abel 16 but the absence of Kiwi call-up Stella Beck had a big impact on Derrick Washington's side.
Gardner also produced an eye-catching 100 per cent conversion rate from her five three-point attempts but none of the visitors made it beyond three assists or five rebounds as O'Neill led her team in each of the major stats.
Having begun their debut season in the new-look Victorian league with two narrow losses, the Torns won three of their next five matches before three heavy losses from their last four games.
They have the chance to bounce straight back on Sunday with a midday visit to the rock bottom Centre of Excellence team at Keilor Basketball Stadium.
A much more formidable fixture awaits after that when they face the soar-away leaders Geelong Supercats twice in three matches (June 1 at home and June 21 at Geelong Arena), either side of a derby clash with Hobart Huskies at Elphin Sports Centre on June 15.
Knox Raiders are the visitors to Ulverstone on June 22.
