Is there really a need for another feasibility study?
The bypass has been the subject of a Bureau of Transport Economics Study.
Its path is clearly shown on the 1973 Lands and Survey Department Launceston and Suburbs Map.
Has had the route surveyed with visible to the public survey markers.
Whose construction was a line in a federal budget but subsequently removed by a new incoming federal government.
Had state funding to build the section between Hoblers Bridge Road and Henry Street. This funding was relocated to the Midway Point causeway in the south of the state.
Does this indicate feasibility?
I believe that most of the feasibility cash should go into surveying residents along the defacto bypass route of Quarantine Road, Johnston Road, St Leonards Road, Ravenswood Road and Vermont Road where Mr Grose, believe it or not, there is significant heavy and passenger vehicle movements that want to avoid the stop, start effects of Wellington and Bathurst streets.
With the increase in vehicular movements along the defacto route there has been an increase in unacceptable noise and other pollutants that should also be taken into account.
Please note individuals have no power to influence governments, to achieve action the cause needs to be taken up by professional lobbyists, e.g. the City of Launceston council.

Israel Folau
TONY Newport's apologetic interpretation of Israel Folau's hateful outburst on social media, (The Examiner, May 13) does not address the key issues underpinning his ill-judged behaviour.
When, for the second time, this highly paid sportsman states in essence that hell awaits gays, fornicators, idolaters and drunkards, there must be consequences for the author. Folau's comments display bigotry and ignorance of an extreme degree, and have negatively impacted not only upon his team members, but upon the world of sport more generally.
The outcome of this social media tirade has undoubtedly brought disrepute to the game of rugby, for which he must be held personally responsible.
Although the circumstances are different to the ball tampering in cricket, each incident brought the respective games and their ethos into disrepute.
In the case of cricket the perpetrators were dealt with immediately, and the game benefited directly as a result.
Israel Folau enjoys the practice of freedom of worship in a tolerant and generous country.
As a high profile public figure on a contract worth $4 million, we the public also have an expectation that he will be held accountable for his comments, and remind those people currently deciding his level of culpability, that he cannot be extended the privilege of serving two masters in this regard.
Let us hope that a clear and timely judgement may soon be made on this matter.
Denis Lisson, Norwood.
