And this year is no exception.
In the Exhibition Hall, alongside the perennial cooking, floral, produce, photography, handcrafts, woolcrafts and arts and crafts exhibits, Tasmania's burgeoning gin industry is being celebrated with a new category for 2019. The Alcoholic Beverage category is for ready-made gin steeped in other flavours eg Sloes.
This will be accompanied by a hands-on Gin Botanicals Workshop on June 1 facilitated by Curly Haslam-Coates.
Other must-see events include felting tutorials, cooking with honey, the Golden Fleece Ram metal competition and of course, the man cake competition.
The show is also the state's greatest celebration of the contribution made by sheep and wool and these form the centrepieces of the two-day event.
The 2019 Australian Wool Innovation fashion parades showcase gorgeous garments from local retailers and designers specialising in Australian wool, such as Coco Blue in Campbell Town and the Tasmanian Wool Centre in nearby Ross.
Featuring men's, women's and children's styles from everyday wear to evening wear from Australian and international labels the parades will be held on Saturday June 1 in the wool arena at 11am and 2.30pm.
The grace of the horse will be on show on Friday with show horse and hunter day and the presentation of the M C Freeman Trophy for Champion Hack.
Then on Saturday morning it's show jumping at Kings Street oval beginning at 8.30am and the Campbell Town Show Winter Woolies Pony Club Gymkhana with pony club classes, a presentation of champion fancy dress combination and a 'grand parade'.
There will be carriage driving in the early afternoon and hunting classes from the Midlands Hunt Club.
If something smaller is more your style, don't miss the Dachshund Dash, open to sausage dogs of all shapes and sizes on Saturday, and the nuptials of Leonardo and Penelope where dachshunds and their humans are invited to dress in their best wedding attire to attend.
There'll also be woodchopping, shearing and woolhandling, yard dog trials, rides, the Rural Youth Ute competition, the MAA Ag Forum and more and you can meet author Rachael Treasure.
The Campbell Town Show will be held Friday May 31 and Saturday June 1 at Campbell Town Showground.
