There is only two weeks remaining for enthusiasts to get in their votes for the 2019 award for Best Fish and Chips.
Tasmanian institution Fraggle's at Invermay sat at 8th place nationally at the mid-point of the competition, and is leading the way for best fish and chip shop in the state.
Fraggle's also saw success during last year's competition.
"Fish and Chips lovers are encouraged to get on-board and tell Australia why their favourite fish and chipper brings the best Fish and Chips to the table," said award manager Peter Horvat.
The awards are in its third year, and is the only Australia-wide event that supports local fish and chip shops and celebrates excellence in the cuisine.
The organiser of the event, Fisheries Research and Development Corporation, uses the initiative to educate consumers on sustainability in fishing and the wide range of seafoods on offer.
Voting for the awards is against five criteria to ensure the best of quality: taste, service, choice, information, and presentation.
The awards have about 19,000 votes so far.
To vote, head online to fishandchipawards.com.au. Voting will close on Friday, May 31.
