This rain is expected to ease to showers this afternoon, but there is the chance of a thunderstorm this afternoon and evening.
The bureau's forecast shows light winds this morning with become northerly at between 20 and 25 kilometres per hour in the middle of the day, and then tend north-westerly in the evening.
Between four and 10 millimetres of rain is predicted for Monday, with a maximum temperature of 16 degrees.
After a brief reprieve in the early hours of Tuesday, there is a chance of showers returning late Tuesday morning and the temperature is expected to hit 17 degrees.
