Last year's beaten grand finalists had the wood over Launceston twice early in that season before the Blues gained revenge late in the season on enemy territory.
That form-line continued in Hobart the next year amid a 8.9 (57) to 2.3 (15) win.
"It was a very even contribution from all the girls this week," Blues coach Angela Dickson said. "I think probably in the other two games, there have been three or four players who really stood up and led from the front.
"Today was the first time that everybody stood up."
The Blues spread all eight goals across seven players, as the Roos took until near the final siren for their second.
Dickson had little doubt her players were working hard on plans to set up an impregnable season.
"Today a lot of it just gelled and worked for us," she said.
"Our backline was brilliant in keeping them close to scoreless. They were building a wall fantastically for us.
"With the midfield and the backline working so well together, it made extremely hard for Clarence to get the ball out of our forward 50, which was a huge help."
