Labor's $25 million towards funding a Tasmanian AFL team has been the main talking point of the 2019 election from a sporting perspective.
The pledge was made way back in July 2018, and was welcomed as 'the best free kick the state has received in a long time' by renowned Longford sports journalist Neil Kearney.
Liberal Senator Richard Colbeck announced in April that his party would not match the offer, suggesting health was more deserving of funding and that the AFL should fund the team as per recent additions Gold Coast and Greater Western Sydney.
A $4.4 million mountain bike trail will be built in George Town regardless of Saturday's outcome, while a selection of soccer and football clubs have also received matching upgrade promises from both parties.
Earlier this week sitting Labor MP Ross Hart announced $1 million towards subsidising entry costs to the 2020 and 2022 Special Olympics, which will be held in Launceston.
The promise was not matched by the government.
