Through the combined efforts of your federal and state Liberal governments, we are creating jobs, strengthening the health system and protecting the Tasmanian way of life.
Tasmania's turnaround has been a major success after six wasted years of a federal and state Labor-Greens alliance where Tasmania ended up in a recession.
Keeping our economy strong is how we will secure your future and your family's future. It is how we will secure your wage, your job, your business or the business you work for.
Because of our economic management, we are delivering the first budget surplus in more than a decade.
Nationwide 1.3 million new jobs created during this government, including almost 17,000 new jobs in Tasmania.
Labor and the Greens put all of this at risk. Last financial year more than 100,000 young Australians got a job.
That's something I'm most proud of - because it is setting our young Tasmanians up for bright, successful futures in whatever they want to do. With a stronger economy, we will create another 1.25 million jobs over the next five years. We've repaired so much of the economic damage caused by Labor and the Greens.
Our approach is proven: deliver Budget surpluses, pay down debt and do it without increasing taxes.
A Liberal Government will keep delivering tax relief for families and small businesses because I want hard working Tasmanians to keep more of what they earn.
- Prime Minister Scott Morrison
A Liberal Government will keep delivering tax relief for families and small businesses because I want hard working Tasmanians to keep more of what they earn.
And because we are back in surplus, we can guarantee the increased funding for the essential services that Australians rely on.
Schools, hospitals, medicines, roads - all guaranteed by a stronger economy.
We will keep Australians safe as we always do, and we will keep our borders secure, as you know we will.
We are implementing the Launceston City Deal to make Launceston one of Australia's most liveable and economically vibrant regional cities to help protect the Tasmanian way of life.
This will include an investment in the northern suburbs community hub.
Our Tasmanian Health Plan will strengthen your health system, providing affordable and accessible health services, where and when you need them.
A strong Tasmanian economy depends on ongoing investment in infrastructure to unlock the potential of regional areas.
That's why we're investing $2.7 billion over the decade in infrastructure to get you to your destinations quickly and safely and help businesses efficiently transport goods and products.
We've opened access to overseas markets for Tasmanian exporters, and we will open up even more markets for Tasmanian producers with new export agreements.
All of this delivered by a plan that has kept our economy strong, without increasing taxes. This is how we will make your life easier in the years ahead. This is how we will take the pressure off you and your family.
Elections are a choice - and at this election, there is a clear choice.
You have the choice between the Liberal Party that is building our economy and securing your future, or Bill Shorten and the Labor Party who are proposing billions of dollars in new and higher taxes that will not only weaken our economy but be wasted on multi-million dollar handouts for an AFL team and MONA.
It is a choice that will determine the economy that Tasmanians live in, not just for the next three years but for the next decade.
Now is not the time to turn back. Australia is the best country in the world but our future depends on a strong economy.
Only the Liberal Party has the plan that will continue to build a strong economy and secure your future.
BILL SHORTEN
This time last year, Chloe and I visited Tassie to celebrate her birthday.
Tassie means a lot to both of us, Chloe's family spent a lot of time in Launceston and she herself worked in Devonport at the start of her career.
My time representing workers brought me to Tassie many times over the years, from Queenstown right through the Tarkine and, of course, Beaconsfield will always hold a special place in my heart.
There's so much Chloe and I love about Tasmania because there's so much variety and beauty packed into one state: mountains, forests, mighty rivers and stunning coastlines.
Mind you, it's not just the great outdoors.
Whether it's steak or seafood, you won't find a better meal anywhere in Australia - and while you can't have it all at campaign time - Tassie whisky, wine and gin are fantastic too.
Of course, if you're lucky enough to live here, you already know all this!
The best thing that's happened in the past 10 years or so is that more and more people, international tourists and Aussies alike, are discovering what a special place Tassie is.
Labor's backing tourism right across the state from shared pathways on the Cradle Coast to MONA at Hobart because we know more visitors means more money in the local economy and more jobs for Tasmanians.
Tassie is a great place to visit - but if I'm elected Prime Minister, I want to make sure it's a great place to live too.
This is why, if you vote Labor, we'll invest in TAFE and apprenticeships and UTAS. It's why we'll put back the $70 million the Liberals have cut from Tassie schools.
It's why, if you vote Labor, we'll reverse the cuts to Sunday penalty rates for up to 40,000 workers in retail, hospitality and fast food. Because we know the money you get from penalty rates isn't a luxury, it's what helps you put food on the table and petrol in your car.
For Tasmanians, like all Australians, what matters most is your family and your health.
This is why we're going to restore the $11 million the Liberals have cut from Tassie hospitals and inject another $162 million of our own on projects like a new sub-acute ward at the Launceston General Hospital and the state-wide blitz to reduce elective surgery waiting times.
At the moment, Tasmania has got some of the worst waiting times for surgery in the nation, if you vote Labor, we're going to turn that around.
Labor's Medicare Cancer Plan will also ensure that Tasmanians battling cancer, people in the fight of their lives, will be able to get their scans and tests and specialist consultations covered by Medicare.
Because in a rich country like Australia, no-one should be paying thousands of dollars out of their own pocket to get the treatment they need.
We'll restore the funding for Tazreach cut by the Liberal Government, making sure Tasmanians have access to specialist medical services by bringing the specialists to the community rather than making people travel to the cities or interstate.
And - in a long overdue bit of help for older Tasmanians - we'll provide access to $1000 every two years to make sure all of Tassie's 85,600 pensioners and seniors' health cardholders can get their dental care, covered by Medicare.
Labor will also invest millions to help fix mobile black spots, keeping locals connected to family and friends, business running smoothly and helping to save lives in an emergency.
We'll also ramp up support for the recreational fishing and anglers by investing $55.5 million to upgrade ageing infrastructure like boat ramps, replenish native fish stocks in our rivers and create the first ever Prime Ministerial Roundtable on Recreational Fishing.
Simply put: you're not tourists, you're not camping out. This beautiful island is your community, your home and your kids shouldn't have to leave home to find a good job, or study at uni, or learn a trade.
And if you need knee surgery, or your cataracts removed, or your teeth fixed up, or treatment for cancer, you shouldn't have to fly to the mainland to get the care you need.
Nowhere in Australia are the economy and the environment more closely linked than Tasmania.
It's one of the reasons I believe climate change is such an important issue at this election.
Labor's committed to taking real action on climate change because we want to help preserve Tasmania's natural wonders for the next generation and because we know that renewable energy means new jobs and new investment for your state.
Chloe and I love Tassie and if I'm elected Prime Minister, I'll make it my mission to make sure your great state and the people who call it home, get every opportunity to flourish and thrive.
So if you want the best possible health care for your family and a fair go for Tassie, vote Labor on Saturday.
