Organiser Rob Fairs said the evening was the perfect opportunity to have some fun and help a good cause.
"It gets bigger and better every year," he said.
"People come from all over because they know it will be a good night, but at the same time they are helping Tasmanian youth.
"The 80s, for me anyway, was also a time that my life could have gone in a very different direction.
"You can go down the wrong path quite easily."
The event raises money for Whitelion's Bail Out campaign, which sees people spend a few hours in jail to help the community better empathise with disadvantaged youths.
Whitelion's interim state manager Mark Nash said the youth support organisation relied largely on community contributions.
"Support like this enables us to work with more Tasmanian youth, will all proceeds staying in the state," he said.
"It all goes directly back into our programs.
"That is about 300 cases across the state."
The Bailout Bash will be held at Star Bar on Saturday from 7.30pm. Early bird tickets are available online for $15 or $20 at the door. Visit launcestontickets.com.au.
