Kane Scott Dallow, formerly known as Kane Scott Hicks, has pleaded guilty to dishonestly acquiring a financial advantage.
Dallow purported to be making a program for Channel 7 and convinced a "friend" he met at Agfest to give him $5000 for sponsorship.

The court previously heard Dallow had worked for Channel 7 in the past, so Magistrate Sharon Cure said it wasn't a total deception.
He was due to be sentenced by Magistrate Cure on Friday, but Dallow appeared unrepresented.
Documents including Dallow's prior convictions from South Australia and a letter detailing his private life were provided to Magistrate Cure on Friday.
The 38-year-old said he was aware of the media in the room and asked the magistrate to read the letter privately.
Magistrate Cure said she'd decide whether it was private or public.
Dallow was ordered to have a pre-sentence assessment done at Community Corrections Tasmania before he is sentenced.
He was bailed to reappear on June 17.
