A George Town mother has pleaded guilty to stealing thousands of dollars of items from a number of houses across the state.

Shannon Lousie Brown, 31, appeared before Magistrate Ken Stanton on almost 100 charges, ranging from aggravated burglary, stealing, driving whilst not the holder of a driver licence and burglary.

She pleaded guilty to 76 charges and not guilty to the remaining.
Police allege some of the burgaries took place in Launceston, Port Sorell, Weymouth, Cape Portland, Tomahawk, Miena and Arthurs Lake, with more than $28,000 of goods stolen.
Brown was remanded to reappear on May 14.
