Cat lovers will be spoiled for choice on the weekend with two events to choose from.
On Saturday, May 11 Just Cats Tasmania will host an adoption event from 11am.
The Longford based centre will be offering the opportunity to come and spend time with some of the cats available for adoption. There will also be food and games, with plenty of prizes to be won.
Just Cats officially took over regional cat management for the state's North earlier this year, following the closure of the Launceston RSPCA Animal Care Centre.
With more than 300 cats currently in its care, Just Cats founder Rachel Beech said the organisation needed all the support it could get.
"Fifty of them are Christmas kittens that are now six months old. We are raising funds to have them all desexed and then we will discount their adoption so we can clear them out and get them into homes," she said.
"This Saturday we will hold a 'are you my mother' promotion, with selected adult cats and kittens over five months old dropped to $100."
Then on Sunday, May 12, the Tamar Valley Cat Club will be hosting its Mother's Day cat show.
Held at Longford Town Hall from 10am to 3pm, the family event will feature many different breeds of cats, with some also available for adoption.
