A second NPL Tasmania win against Clarence on Saturday saw a wonder goal from widely-travelled Argentine Luca Vigilante and the introduction of teenage forward prospect Matt Spanos.
Gaetani was delighted to see Vigilante channel his inner Vincent Kompany in his second game back from a foot injury while Spanos has arrived via Launceston United, Northern Rangers and the same state rep team as Olympic teammates Liam Gilmore, Will Humphrey, Jarrod Hill and Jasper King.
"Matt's a young guy but very strong and will be a ripper of a player," Gaetani said.
"It was Luca's best game for the club. He played as a deep lying midfielder where he looked really comfortable and controlled the game. He's got goals in him and we'll see him getting better and better."
On Saturday Olympic travel to Warrior Park where they lost 5-0 in round 7 in the midst of leaking 21 goals in four games without finding the net themselves.
"Olympia put in a strong performance against us last time. All we can expect is to learn from our mistakes from that game. Nobody expects us to win and we've got nothing to lose, including points, so we'll go for it."
Out of the cup and with a league bye looming, Launceston City face almost a month without a match.
Northern Rangers will fly the flag for Launceston in the other two cup competitions on Saturday. The women's team travel to Taroona while a trip to Kingborough awaits in the under-20 cup, Rangers having taken the place of a Riverside team penalised for playing two under-age players in the previous round's 5-1 success.
