Launched at Norwood Primary School on Monday, the TAC'TICS app gives children the chance to go on a treasure hunt around the school and find information about the syndrome.
Thomas Harrington, nine, was diagnosed with Tourette's when he was four.
"It's just like being a normal person, but you do these different weird things that is different to other people," he said.
"I hope it makes other kids understand more about Tourette's."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Thomas' mum, Bec, hopes to see the app in all schools across Australia.
"Acceptance and understanding is one of the biggest challenges for people [with Tourette's]," she said.
"A lot of people think that Tourette's is just swearing, but only 10 per cent of people actually have that tick. The other misconception is that people think it's just someone with bad behaviour."
National Tourette Syndrome Awareness Week started on Monday, and finishes on Sunday.
