The home side earned 4-0 win over Kingborough Lions at Buckby Land Rover Park, turning around avery recent 1-1 draw on Easter Monday.
Sciulli was content enough that day, only two days since City were eliminated from the Lakoseljac Cup by southern championship minnows University in the round of 16.
But the return encounter with the Lions was "definitely our best" after the 2015 NPL coach of the year took over the reins from Peter Sawdon on the eve of the season.
"We've worked hard defensively as a group, we've attacked quite well at times, but collectively the whole game was our best performance by a mile," Sciulli said.
Perennial scorer Noah Mies opened City's account in 19th minute to give the Devils a 1-0 lead at half-time.
But City tore through the Lions defence after the break three times in 21 minutes.
Jarrod Linger scored easy enough in the 48th minute off a ball from Mies.
Recent signing Martin Mitreski set Charlie Dyer with City's third in the 61st minute before Mies volleys his second eight minutes later.
The combination of Mies, Linger and Mitreski proving to be a work in progress.
"We had been training on moving the ball quickly and in numbers, and we did that today so I was happy with that," Sciulli said, "and when we didn't have it, we were right on their first touch."
Riverside Olympic sought some measure of revenge over Clarence United with a 3-1 victory on the road.
But coach Alex Gaetani had nervous moments late in his side's second NPL Tasmania triumph of the season.
"We did get a little bit nervous because they were creating things and almost getting on top," Gaetani said.
Captain Aaron Campbell only secured the three points - that after Riverside were two goals up in the first half - with a 86th-minute sealer.
Clarence caused an upset just 12 days earlier in the rescheduled round 1 game for its first win since 2017.
The 1-0 loss against a side that had conceded 59 goals in its seven games proved a motivation for the Roos, but the re-match was Clarence's narrowest defeat of the year.
"The second half was disappointing," Gaetani said.
"We were kind of put under pressure a little bit before we wrapped it up."
That was in stark contrast to the first half. Argentinian Luca Vigilante struck one from way outside the box in the 20th minute and Rhys Kinslow a minute in the half gave the visitors a 2-0 lead.
"The most pleasing aspect of it wasn't the points, but in the first half we just played better football," Gaetani said.
"We took more risks with the ball, we moved it forward quicker and we could have gone with more at half-time."
Devonport had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Hobart Zebras at Valley Road.
