With a second win under their belt, the 2-3 Tornadoes will play their second away double-header this weekend, meeting Frankston on Saturday night before a Sunday encounter with Eltham Wildcats.
Washington said his side had made huge steps in Sunday's win over Waverley after falling away in the second half of a 22-point loss to Bendigo, and was optimistic of finishing the weekend unbeaten.
"Frankston is a couple of spots below us in 13th and Eltham is in ninth, so we're in between both," Washington said.
"We believe that if we go in this weekend and handle business like we did on Sunday we should be able to get two victories.
"Last year we started out slow but towards this fifth and sixth game is where we start picking up, and I believe personally that we can get on a nice little four-to-five game winning streak here, especially if we take care of business this weekend."
Washington said his side was beginning to gel under US import and new captain Steph Gardner, who led the way with 54 points and 12 assists last weekend.
"Stephanie is a true leader - I say she's 'the truth' because she can do it on both ends, defence, offence, she knows how to lead a team and she's getting the players involved which is really good," he said.
"Rebecca Abel was 6-10 from the three-point line, she is our three-point shooter, Brittany Hodges can score the ball and rebound the basketball and Sarah O'Neill, she stepped up against Waverley.
"She didn't have a good game against Bendigo but she bounced back as one of our young locals to come out strong and I'm really proud of her."
