Debutant Issac Chugg scored for the Devils in the opening 45 seconds, pinging the ball from just inside 50 metres that bounced over the defence for the first goal.
The Launceston teenager created another spark with a leaping grab over two rivals on half forward minutes later.
The Devils had five scoring shots before the Jets got on the board for a 10-point lead, but that was as good as it got all day for the home side.
The Victorian side goaled on the 20-minute mark and scored a second all within 90 seconds of the bounce.
It was an eight-goal-to-two turnaround for the Jets after quarter-time that set up the 10.13 (73) to 3.8 (26) victory.
"We just didn't turn up. We started well. We had plenty of shots on goal early," Devils coach Adrian Fletcher said
"We didn't get the scoreboard pressure. They had 100 uncontested marks so they controlled the game."
The Jets had struggled to get the ball into their forward 50 for much of the first quarter, but finished the term 15 entries to eight in front.
The match entirely flipped around from that point when the Devils went half an hour to score just a behind.
The Jets amassed touches everywhere, but were only rewarded with a fourth goal of the match seconds out from the half-time siren.
The 15-point lead was stretched in the first minute of the second half and that momentum was only halted when Lachlan Gadomski on the run slammed a goal under pressure 35 metres out.
But the absence of stars Jackson Callow, Sam Collins, Oliver Davis all unavailable over Australian under-17 selection and midfielder Mitch O'Neill still injured began to hurt Adrian Fletcher's side.
The Devils conceded the next five goals within the next 30 minutes until Tyler Penright scootered a ball off the ground from point blank range on the back of some quick ball movement.
"We didn't win any contested ball - they just beat us at the contest," Fletcher said.
"Then they beat us on the spread. It's going to be hard to defend that."
The Devils lost 40 touches out of the middle and Fletcher believes the side is two onballers short of mixing it in the elite Victorian-based under-18 competition.
A shell-shocked side will be hoping the scoreline was more of an aberration in front of home support.
"I think they'll learn from that," Fletcher said.
"We probably had some momentum going into the Easter break and then we lost a little bit of it with our preparation for the game."
