Police are again calling for information about a fatal pedestrian crash that happened on the Midland Highway on New Year's Day.

A 30-year-old Claremont man, Gary John Hayes, was killed in the Brighton crash.
Tasmania Police Sergeant Luke Walker said police continued to follow a number of lines of inquiry regarding the incident.
"[We] are asking members of the public to come forward if they have any information, no matter how relevant they believe it to be," Sergeant Walker said.
"Police believe that a large vehicle, possibly a truck or similar, was involved in the crash."

Police said Mr Hayes was not only a husband to his wife, he was also her primary carer.
"This is a tragic event, and police want to identify the driver and vehicle involved so the victim's family can have some closure," Sergeant Walker said.
