A 21-year-old Tongan man hit a power pole at Mole Creek about 5am on Good Friday.
Initial investigations by police indicated the man lost control of his Toyota Camry and swerved onto the incorrect side of the road.
He over-corrected the car, it slid and then hit the pole.
An 18-year-old passenger was killed in a crash at Birralee on Saturday.
The 27-year-old driver, who remains in hospital after sustaining head injuries, was believed to have lost control on a right-hand bend, crossed onto the incorrect side of the road and then hit a power pole.
Speed and alcohol are yet to be ruled out as factors in the crash.
