Father Mark Freeman said the service went very well.
"We had a great crowd of between 500 and 600 people there so that's pretty exciting," he said.
"It was a great celebration of Easter and people seemed to be happy with things."
Father Freeman said the key message for Easter this year was the importance of being wholeheartedly selfless in day-to-day life.
"For each person that gathered today what we were encouraging and hoping for is that they would be able to take that sense of being prepared to give of yourself," Father Freeman said.
"Take the risk of giving of yourself for others and in that way to really live fully."
Mass attendee Christalyn Grace said Easter to her was about family.
"Family is important to have especially around Easter time because it is a time for the family to celebrate and just be really grateful about life," Ms Grace said.
