The Southern Bombers' fourth-straight win dialled up the anticipation for next week's grand final rematch against North Launceston, who are also unbeaten to start the season.
The only Saturday match of the round started with some big late changes as former AFL pair Jeromey Webberley and Jacob Gillbee were replaced by Tyler Penwright and Nick Sneyd respectively.
Clarence teenager Penwright (three goals) started with a bang, kicking two majors in the first quarter as the Roos bolted to a 19-point lead.
The Southern Bombers hit the front in the second term and held on for an important win despite relinquishing a 21-point lead midway through the third quarter.
Experienced trio Sam Siggins, Josh McGuinness and Bryce Walsh were best on ground for the Bombers, while former Launceston prospect Ethan Jackson and young talents Adrian Butterworth and Oscar Paprotny starred for the Roos.
Clarence will host Launceston next weekend.
