Former University of Memphis student Hibberd was pushed in her first set against South Australia's Elyse Edwards before pulling away and asserting her dominance with a 7-5 6-1 win in the 95-minute encounter.

A match full of competitive rallies, Hibberd's experience proved too much for the South Australian as she progressed to the semi finals where she will face young New South Wales prospect Maia Stallworthy after her 4-6 7-6(5) 10-4 win over Jaime Edwards.

Number two seed Krueger is continuing her return from injury but defeated Queensland up-and-comer Payton Argles 6-0 6-2.

Having previously played in professional events, Krueger was impressive and will compete against Hobart's Charlotte Ingram, who overcame Lara Unkovich 6-3 6-0.

The men's side of the draw featured some different results however with the third, fourth and eighth seeds all sent packing.

Victoria's Wesley Nelson was defeated 7-6 7-6 by Timothy Parker, Northern coach Jason Fletcher succumbed to injury against Marko Pavicic and Casey Ambler continued his form from earlier in the day to defeat Kent Yamakazi in two tight sets and a marathon tiebreak, 3-6 6-4 11-9.

Launceston's Ruben McCormack fought a tight battle to progress to the quarter-finals alongside close friend Sam Whitehead, Sam Edgar and number one seed, Edward Bourchier who cruised to a 6-1 6-0 victory.

The men's quarter-finals are to be played Sunday afternoon, with the semis and finals to be played Monday.

In the junior highlight of the day, Launceston's Will Bennett overcame Hobart number eight seed Edison Lee 4-6 6-4 6-4 in an under-16 boys three-hour marathon.
