Jane Forrest is preparing for the event to be held on May 23 until 26.
"So far our ticket sales are showing there is a lot of interest from across the country," she said. "We've sold tickets to as far as field as Perth, Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne and across Tasmania all across the North-West Coast as far as Wynyard right down South."
The event's schools program has also sold out with one Victorian school booking a spot. About 15 interstate guest teachers and artists will be in the state for the event.
"We're working really hard to activate our city through a special program called the Show on the Road which will see a vintage cart take to the streets of Launceston and treat everyone to musical theatre tunes popping up in various locations including the Brisbane Street Mall, the football and the night market in Civic Sqaure," Ms Forrest said.
The event has been funded for five years through Events Tasmania and has received a start up grant from the City of Launceston council.
Ms Forrest made the presentation during the council's meeting on Thursday.
