Two people have been arrested in the Fingal Valley area in connection with the alleged murder of Jarrod Leigh Turner.
The 22-year-old was found near Colebrook Road at Richmond in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Tasmania Police, including the Special Operations Group, made the arrests on Friday night, with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter also utilised as part of the operation.
A male and a female remain in police custody and are assisting police with their inquiries.
Senior Sergeant Jason Jones said the arrests involved a large scale investigation combing specialists from the state's North and South.
A residence at Fingal was searched and exhibits seized, police say.
Police also seized a vehicle at the scene of the arrest, which will be subject to forensic examination.
A number of other inquiries remain underway.
Earlier this week a 14-year-old girl was charged with one count of being an accessory after the fact to murder.
A 29-year-old man was also taken into custody, but was later released.
