It did not take long for the Swans to gain the control of the match in the first quarter, with Jack Triffett goalling in the second minute of the game.

Triffett's fast start was built on by two goals to Damien Medwin and singles to Nick Mitchell and Steven Flint to open a 30-point gap until Goddard broke through for the Demons to lower the deficit to 32-8 at quarter-time.

Both teams had their opportunities to take control of the game after quarter-time with the Swans holding a 37-point lead after two goals to Cody Walker and one goal to Sam Borlini.

The Demons gained some ascendancy through Tyler Dell, Brayden Butler and Adam Jeffrey to trail the Swans 56-27 at half-time.

It was a slow start to the second half with neither teams breaking the stalemate until Medwin got his third and fourth goals after the 12th minute mark and Flint to blow the Demons away at the final break with a 78-30 lead.

Goddard made his way from the ground in the third quarter and never returned with a suspected broken left hand.

The Demons would not work their way into the game in the final quarter and were fell to the 68-point victory.

Medwin was a threat with five goals for the Swans and Josh Handley was their best.
