Gavin Lang, one of the greatest Australian reinsmen of all time, with more than 5000 wins to his credit, claimed his fifth Easter Cup at Mowbray on Saturday night. The Lang-trained and driven Franco Tristan just held out local stars Scooterwillrev and Ryley Major in a tight finish. Lang said his horse may not have been the best in the $75,000 race but had perfect standing-start manners.
