A free workshop will be held in Deloraine next month, aimed at providing suicide prevention training for unpaid friends, families and carers of people living with mental ill health.

Hosted by Mental Health Carers Tasmania, the four-hour course is an opportunity for carers to learn more about providing support to someone developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis.
The training is fully funded by Department of Health and Human Services, with spaces limited to a maximum 15 people.

There might also be placements available for students, volunteers or paid employees at a subsidised rate of $35 per participant, but first priority is given to unpaid mental health carers.
