Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service has not committed to what will happen at Ben Lomond after the owners of Ben Lomond Alpine Hotel announced they would not be rebuilding on Monday.
The hotel and the service's Legges Tor public shelter were destroyed by fire on May 15, 2018.
A temporary licence was issued for a kiosk for the 2018 ski season, while Allan and Megan Lourie, who owned the hotel for five years, discussed future plans.
"The desired outcome for many on Ben Lomond is for a purpose-built facility that caters for the needs of all, providing information, food, beverages, shelter, seating and ticketing in the one venue," the Louries said.
Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service was contacted for comment.
