Ms Cornish, who was partnered with lifesaver and model Jett Kenny, said the pair were happy "to go out on a high".
"The support has been amazing, especially coming from Tasmania. My mum keeps telling me people are coming up to her," she said.
Staying in Sydney for the week ahead of the finale, Ms Cornish and Mr Kenny will head back to Launceston and the Sunshine Coast next week.
"After the finale I'll be heading home to Tassie and Jett will go back to the Sunny Coast," she said.
Having left the competition, the duo said they were now throwing their support behind Team Courtney and Josh.
Hearing about Tasmania for the past four months has inspired Mr Kenny to visit, admitting he "likes the cold".
"I'm going to take a few weeks off to do absolutely nothing, but I will keep fit and active. I might do some dance classes, " Mr Kenny said.
And they are relishing the prospect of not having to train daily.
"We've spent every day together since January so it's a bit weird that we're not in the studio today," Ms Cornish said.
"I'm happy to give my body a rest from dancing," Mr Kenny said.
Ms Cornish heads to Europe on May 20 for her second stint with touring dance show Burn the Floor.
